Is a Sri Lanka visa required for a Swiss citizen?

Yes. A Sri Lanka visa for Swiss citizens, who wish to visit this beautiful country, is required. Citizens of Switzerland can apply for a visa in two ways:

  • Apply for an online visa: Sri Lanka ETA
  • Apply for a regular visa at the nearest Embassy or Consulate

Since 2012, the Government of Sri Lanka has introduced a new visa system called Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for certain countries in the world. Switzerland is one of the eligible countries for a Sri Lanka ETA.

Swiss passport holders can use this ETA to visit Sri Lanka for short-term stays for tourism, transit, or business purposes. This type of visa is valid for 06 months from the issued date, allowing Swiss travelers to stay in the country for up to 30 days.
